Republic of Croatia, is a country at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe. It shares a coastline along the Adriatic Sea, with twenty counties. with a population of nearly 3.9 million. The Croats arrived in the 6th century and organised the territory into two duchies by the 9th century. Croatia was first internationally recognised as independent on 7 June 879 during the reign of Duke Branimir. Tomislav became the first king by 925, elevating Croatia to the status of a kingdom.
Economy:
It's a developed high-income service based economy with the tertiary sector accounting for 60% of total gross domestic product (GDP). It joined the World Trade Organization in 2000, NATO in 2009 and became a member of the European Union on 1 July 2013.  The Croatian economy was badly affected by the financial crisis which, together with slow progress of economic reforms, resulted in six years of recession and a cumulative decline in GDP of 12.5%.
