The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, (UK) or Britain, is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, with the North Sea to the east, the English Channel to the south and the Celtic Sea to the south-west, giving it the 12th-longest coastline in the world. The Irish Sea separates Great Britain and Ireland. The UK a unitary parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. The monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, has reigned since 1952.


Economy: It is a highly developed social market and market-oriented economy. It is the fifth-largest national economy in the world measured by (GDP), constituting 3.3% of world GDP. The UK is one of the most globalised economies, and comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. In 2019, the UK was the fifth-largest exporter in the world and the fifth-largest importer. It also had the third-largest inward foreign direct investment, and the fifth-largest outward foreign direct investment.
